Happy Friday Everyone! We did it, another week down and headed towards a beautiful weekend! What are your plans for the next couple of days?
I’m helping coach Markesan’s 15 and under girls basketball and love being able to share my passion and knowledge for the game with these young and talented girls! We have a tournament this Saturday in Stoughton so wish us luck! Sunday I will be spending the beautiful day with my wonderful Mommasita and Grandma for Mother’s Day. If only I could be half the woman that they both are! I have big shoes to fill ladies and gentleman.
(Isn’t she beautiful 🙂 )
Honestly though, she is giving me big shoes to fill. To walk through this life and spread love and joy the way she does. To be able to help my little girl one day realize that life can be hard, but with family and God we always get through. We get lost and wonder at times, what is my purpose? Who am I suppose to be? But we need to take heart, because it is already decided.
“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9
Wow. I hope this verse hits you as hard as it has hit me. Planning. We do it all the time right? It’s part of life, a necessity. We plan what we are going to wear each day. We plan what the supper menu is for the week. We plan what we will major in so it fits into our planned vision of our career and future.
But what if this life, these new steps we are taking each day, were already planned? What if it was already decided? Our human mind tells us that’s impossible. We are making our own decisions each day. We don’t know what move we will take tomorrow. And we would be right, we don’t know. But guess who does know?
To me this makes my heart beat fast and my faith rise out to the Lord. We think we have so much control over our next step, but really what we have control over is our attitude in how we react to what is decided in our every step. You see, the struggles we go through are given to test our faith, to show it is strong and pure. (1 Peter 1:7)
God will never give us anything we can’t handle in this world. Every victory and every loss we encounter is all part of the steps He already has planned for us. The victories are to teach us to be humble and to praise the Lord for the blessings in our hearts. The losses are to point us to God for faith to get through the hard times we are encountering.
One of the most incredible moments in this life, is when you don’t see God, but you know He is working in you. You may feel everyday is the same. The same job tasks, the same routine or the same struggles. And then all of a sudden one day everything changes. God has shown you the turn in the road and a light at the end of the tunnel.
Those are the moments when you realize that even though you can’t feel Him every day, He is there. And He is working in every single one of us every step of the way. Sometimes when you really pay close attention, He will reveal Himself to you. And that, that is called a miracle.
Happy Friday Everyone!
Questions of the day:
- What miracles have you had where you experienced God in your life?
- What kind of attitude did you have going into some life struggles compared to the attitude you had after?
