Yet another Friday Danceeeee!
Today is the last day in my first apartment with Tyler. We have had so many good memories and “firsts” in this cute little place it’s a bittersweet feeling to say goodbye.
Not only have we survived a year of living together, but we have also learned how to pick each other up.
After a very long day at work a few months ago, I came home to some beautiful flowers, a bottle of wine and movies to help me relax for the night. Our little home has made us both more caring, thoughtful and loving towards one another.
I have said it time and time again in recent blog posts how this man keeps me grounded and honestly, I don’t know what this last year in Madison would have been like without him next to my side everyday. He has made growing up more fun and when I worry about car payments or increased rent he is right there to hold my hand and tell me everything will work out just fine!
Saying goodbye to our first home and hello to our next is extremely exciting as many doors in our lives are opening up for new opportunities. As our relationship is coming up on two years, it’s a little bit ironic and fun to say we are now moving to our second apartment. Packing up brought back many memories as I have come across pictures, notes and souvenirs from this past year. It also has helped us not become hoarders and throw clothes and/or other items away that we have not touched in this past year! But let’s be real, NOBODY enjoys moving. I am so ready to be done packing and want all of our boxes to magically find their way into our new apartment.
Fortunately, both Tyler and I are extremely blessed to have such amazing families to come and help us with moving today. It’s exciting for Tyler and I to get a bigger place, but for our parents, there is no excitement in helping someone move. Except for the fridge full of beer we have ready for them. 🙂
As I’m about to head out the door for a quick run and continue packing up the rest of our belongings I wanted to share why I’m doing the Friday dance today! I’m blessed with Tyler, the new doors opening in our lives and mostly for the amazing family we have supporting and helping us each and every day.
Every Friday I preach it over and over, but if we don’t take the time to reflect on the things we are thankful for, we forget the good things that happen to us and dwell on the frustrating or hard times we have or are going through.
Chin up buttercup and do your Friday Dance on this beautiful morning!
