This Love High

Ever since this weekend and my best friend’s beautiful wedding (check out my post #dannylovesrea for pictures) I have been on a love high.

When I get the chance to see two people so in love while having God as their centerpiece in their relationship my heart jumps with joy. God has these plans already set in stone for us. He puts some people in our lives only to lead us to others. Like how Rea met Danny and I met Tyler 🙂

He makes us go through hard times so that we can learn to become stronger. He never will give us anything we can’t handle, even when we feel we will never get over that mountain.

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

With that strength, along with love, life can truly be a love high all the time.

I had the honor to be reminded of this during Tyler’s little brother’s graduation on Sunday.

Love High

It looks like love right?!

Love High

It is I promise 🙂

Logan was the salutatorian of his class and he prepared such an incredible speech for his classmates, teachers, parents and friends at the ceremony. You know, it is crazy how those younger then us can still teach us lessons about life. Their class motto was to “Live for Today.”Logan's Graduation

All three of the student speakers talked about what their lives were like five years ago before entering into high school and how they think it will be five years from now, but that the person they are right now is shaping them for the future. Logan spoke about how they all needed to live in that exact moment because they never will get that time back.

As I sat and listened to Logan’s wonderful speech I couldn’t help but be on a love high. I was a little shocked with how much I was learning about myself at a high school graduation. These young adults have so much energy and big dreams. They believe they can accomplish anything and they can. It was so encouraging to see this excitement about the next stages in their life.

As I am coming up on my five year reunion, I am at the stage in my life that they are preparing for. Logan, a high school graduate who sounded so wise for his age, helped remind me on Sunday how precious time is and how quickly it goes by. I couldn’t help but to smile as I watched this young man teach so many adults in the auditorium about living in the now and how we all have moments we won’t ever get back. We all go through good times and bad times all to shape us into who we will become.

Romans 15:4 “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

It’s crazy how those of us in the work force forget the excitement and dreams of a high school graduate. We get so absorbed in the “real worlds” ups and downs that we forget the tough times build our character and faith. They strengthen us and give us hope. They make us appreciate what we have and teach us how to love.

God has a plan. He loves us. He cherishes us. He has this plan to take us through this world and touch the hearts of those around us, just as my heart was touched at Danny and Rea’s wedding and Logan’s graduation this past weekend.

The Wild Family

1 Corinthians 13:13 says it best:

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

This is my love high.
