God’s Great Love: Accepting Love for a Fulfilling Life

I’ve been known many times for saying the phrase, “I love Love!” I love hearing the stories of how people met. I love hearing when friends get engaged and how it happens. I love the juicy details and get the butterflies every time I talk about love. I especially love my own love story with this handsome man:

God's Great Love

The love I adore the most though, is God’s great love.

God loves us so much. He loves us the same today as He did yesterday. His love will never change no matter what we do. He has and always will love us in our darketst moments (Romans 5:8). This is not only encouraging to know, but also extremely humbling. It’s not our actions that make God love us, it is our acceptance of His love that bring us the fullness in this life.

1 John 4:16, 18 “We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.”

God is omniscient. He knows our thoughts, actions we are about to take and our future. He already has a plan for us with many paths to the end result. Many times it depends on our attitude and acceptance of God’s love that decides which path we end up on.

There are many times that we may feel like a failure in life. Work may become too hard, our kids are always fighting, or we aren’t getting the grades we wanted, but God rises above all of the disappointment of life and gives us hope.

Romans 5:5 “Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

So why is that life gets hard? Why does it feel like we can’t rise above all the craziness of this world if God has so much love for us?

In “Life Principles for the Graduate”, Charles Sweeney explains the answer is found in our ability to accept and apply a very crucial truth to our hearts: it is God’s unconditional love that changes us and brings lasting fulfillment.

Once we accept this truth and understand there is no greater love than the love of God, we will begin to walk down the path He has planned for us in our lives.

When you begin to accept God’s love, you will begin to feel the desires He presses on your heart. The dreams you begin to feel is part of the plan God already created for you. The world promises us a lot of fame, fortune and material possessions, but it doesn’t promise love or happiness.

Stand firm in your faith, accept God’s love, trust Him to take you in a direction down the path that will lead to unimaginable blessings.

I love Love! Above all love, God’s is my favorite. There was a time in my life where I didn’t accept His love because I thought there was no way He could love me. Always know God will love you the same every single day and His love is beyond any earthly love. When I think about how much love I have for Tyler and my family, it’s hard to believe there can be any greater love than that. But God’s love is above and beyond what I have for Tyler. For me, that is pretty humbling and exciting to know I’m loved so much. Once I accepted God’s love, I saw my life unfold with so many blessings and I haven’t turned back since.

Many times I hear people say, “if God is real or if God loves me so much, why did He allow this to happen to me?”

My questions back to that would be, “Have you accepted God’s love in your life? Do you trust in the plan He has for you?”

If you walk away this morning knowing how much God loves you, accept it. Accept his love, feel Him move within you and I promise you that you will begin to feel His many blessings in the plan He already wrote for your life.
