Friday Dance timeeee!
I don’t know if it’s just because I’m getting older or what, but each day and week seems to go by faster than the last. I have a love-hate feeling towards time. I love how much fun I’m having, but hate how quickly everything seems to be passing by!
This morning I have a very special Friday Dance because I finally got together with one of my best friends last night and that alone has made my complete week. This week has been hard at work due to the passing of a designer that used to work there not to long ago. When you have something like that happen, you don’t always feel like it’s right to be sharing all of the things you are thankful for when you see so many close coworkers and friends hurting inside. My heart goes out to all of her family, friends and coworkers and I know she will truly be missed. For that my Friday Dance begins:
1) Her beautiful life
I wanted to dance for the beautiful life that she had. I didn’t get to know her very well since she went on maternity leave when I started and came back to work gradually before having to quit all together, but when we heard the news I saw how much it affected everyone in the room, including myself. She was so loved and admired. I’m thankful for knowing her, even if it was only for a short period of time and know she will be missed by many.
2) This ray of sunshine
Katie is one of my best friends in the entire world. We have such a rare friendship and anyone who knows or has seen us together completely understand what that means. We met back in high school during the WBCA All Star week. We spent one week together and knew we would have a special friendship that lasts forever. Katie and I don’t get to see each other that often, we figured out the last time we saw each other was last August (which is not okay), yet every time we see each other we jump into each others arms and get super giggly. We had to prepare both our boyfriends for the moment we would see each other again for that reason. They handled it well. 🙂 She is one of the sweetest, caring, hilarious and most genuine friends I have ever met. I’m so thankful to have spent the night with her, but even more thankful to have her in my life (even if that means seeing each other once a year, which better change 🙂 )
3) The Terrace
I absolutely love Madison, yet I haven’t been to some of the most popular areas down town. Katie introduced Tyler and I to the popular Terrace that we hear so much about. It was so much fun. Everyone you could possible imagine was there. There was music, laughing, drinks and food. You can’t get much better than that. Tyler and I live in more of a suburb so to go down town during the middle of the week and see the different lifestyle was so much fun!
The Terrace is such a beautiful place right on the water and it was so fun to see all the activities going on, such as yoga on the water. It was absolutely crazy! They were literally having a yoga class on the water (YogAqua). Each person had their own board while attempting downward dog under the sunshine on the lake. A part of me wanted to jump in and join, while the other part of me knew that would turn out bad!
4) Madison and Its beauty
I always love going down by state street and the capital. There is something about the atmosphere in Madison that I absolutely love being a part of. Everything seems to be even more beautiful at night too!
We headed to the comedy club to see the Farley Brothers perform!
It was honestly so crazy watching the Farley brothers perform. At times they sounded and looked exactly like Chris Farley used to. I couldn’t get over that part of it, but it was so unbelievably fun and hilarious.
Earlier in the night as we were on our way to the comedy club we saw this very unique scenario. A large three wheel bike on the back of a yellow bug.
We couldn’t get over how hilarious this looked and wondered how the owner ever thought of putting the back two tires on top of each other. Not only that, but the bike was bigger than his vehicle! I tried to capture the moment so you could understand this bike!
I still am laughing about this while I’m writing this.
Well as we were leaving the comedy club, Katie noticed the man was riding his bike around!!!
We were so happy to see the bike in action. I give props to this man! 🙂
5) Extreme Weight Loss
EWL was by far the best show this week. I was in tears multiple times throughout the episode.
Bruce was a high school football coach who was sexually abused as a young child. He went through so much hardship and actually tried committing suicide about a year before the show, but the rope broke due to obesity. I still have goose bumps just thinking about his story. He battled through so much, yet had the best attitude on the show that I have ever seen. He is such an inspiration to so many and as Chris said, “he is an angel walking among us.” I truly do believe God has so many plans for Bruce. He will continue to change lives and do amazing things. If you missed the show I encourage you to go to ABC and watch it! I know I will be re-watching it on demand this weekend! 🙂
6) Summer Shape Up
I absolutely love participating in the four week challenge. I am feeling the workouts and loving the food options. This week I have fallen in love with the flour free protein pancakes!
All you do is take a mashed banana and two eggs, whisk them together. Add some cinnamon, flax seed and vanilla extract to taste and pour into a sprayed pan for about 10 minutes on one side. Flip for 1 minute and oh em gee my mouth is watering.
I’m so thankful for this entire week. I can’t even explain how good God is to me and continues to be. I have a lot to dance for this week and it seems like every week I have more and more to dance about. Friday mornings are always my favorite to post because I finally take the time to sit down and reflect on the week. I forget about the bad or stressful times and focus on all the good that God has brought into my life.
Take some time this morning to really stop and think about all the great things that happened to you this week, I promise it will start your Friday off with a feeling of gratitude and there is nothing better than that!
Get up, dance around and buckle down for the last day of the work week! Here’s to the weekend! 🙂
Questions for the day:
- What has you dancing this morning?
- How was your week?
