How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was again full of events, but so much fun. It does get exhausting having to run around every weekend, but honestly I wouldn’t want it any other way.
After work on Friday I headed straight to Oconomowac for a bachelorette party. We had way to much fun singing some Karaoke and dancing the night away.
Saturday morning I headed back to Mayville, attended a yoga class for detox and then got ready for Tyler’s friend’s wedding. This wedding was absolutely beautiful. The reception was held on the beautiful golf course in Wales.
As you may know, I love Love. Weddings are so much fun and I love seeing the love the couple and parents share for each other. This wedding was decorated so cute as well! They used corks as the holders for each guests name. I have heard of this idea, but have never seen it at an actual wedding. It turned out so cute!
My favorite part of the wedding was the Seahorse Martini Bar. They had a seahorse ice sculpture used to chill the martinis. There was a spout sculpted into the statue that started near the top of the seahorse down to it’s tail. The bartender would pour the martini mixture into the seahorse down into the glass.
I have never seen this so of course I was absolutely amazed. What a great idea and the martini was so good might I add.
It was so great to spend the day with Tyler and some of his friends that we haven’t seen in a very long time. Not only do weddings celebrate love, but they also bring so many people back together that haven’t seen each other in years!
SUMMER SHAPE UP
For those of you that may not know, I have been participating in a four week Summer Shape Up challenge. Two of my favorite bloggers, Gina and Anne, put together weekly workouts and meals to help get back into summer shape. Gina has been doing an amazing job putting a workout schedule together that works every muscle, but keeps the body guessing what will be worked each day. Anne’s meal plans are to die for. I love to put together at least one of her dishes every day!
The week 3 Summer shape up workouts and meal plans are up! I am so excited for this week’s workout. It looks like a tough one! I am starting the morning off with Anne’s peach almond overnight oatmeal. I’ll share how easy it was to make later today in my Summer Shape up review post.
Stay tuned 🙂
FAITH: ABIDING IN CHRIST
In my second journey through “Life Principles for the Graduate” by Charles Stanley, I am being reminded of God’s purpose for my life and why we go through the things we do.
We all face difficult times to the point of burnout. We put in overtime at work to make sure the big presentation is put together for the boss, we stay up late to study for the exam, we push our bodies and minds to the limit so we can succeed. It seems our main goal in life is to work overtime to achieve our goals.
John 15 teaches that it is not our responsibility to strive for anything. Our part is to submit our lives to God and allow Him to live His life through us.
When we abide in God and follow him for a lifetime, He takes our thoughts and conforms them to His will and purpose for our life. Know your purpose here on this earth isn’t to put in overtime to achieve goals, but to become closer to God and allow Him to live through us.
“In abiding, we discover that God sharpens our talents, purifies our minds, and prepares us for His service in His kingdom.” – Chris Stanely, “Life Principles for the Graduate.”
Today I hope you can take your difficulties and struggles and use them to allow God to live through you.
My daily prayer:
Lord, I pray you fill my heart with the desires you have for me. I pray you bless me today to spread your life and joy to others on this beautiful day!
Have a wonderful Monday all!
Questions for the day:
- What things fun did you do this weekend?
- Are you participating in Summer Shape Up?
