I am so excited to share with you today my new love for BodyPump. I have always heard so much about the Body classes, but never really jumped on the bandwagon with this one. I also don’t like to spend money so joining a gym has never been an option since we have such a nice workout area at our apartment complex, but after last nights workout I am rethinking that statement.
For the past year I have been receiving postcards from Gold’s Gym about a free 1-day pass to group classes. I always wanted to try it, but knew the second I walked in the door they would try to sell me an expensive membership. This did of course happen, but the sales rep was so amazing. She was so personable and not pushy what so ever. Her character makes me want to come back again and again.
I originally wanted to do the BodyStep class, but due to traffic after work had to wait around for BodyPump. It was awesome because then I got to walk around the gym and try out new machines that my little workout center at home doesn’t have. Which now that I’m thinking about it, adds to some of my soreness this morning! 🙂
The class itself was awesome. I would say at first it was very intimidating. The second the doors opened everyone swarmed to the weight room to get a step-up box, a bar and weights. I did the newbie thing by standing in the back and watching what everyone around me grabbed, then I went and grabbed it!
(I didn’t want my classmates to think I was a total creeper for taking pictures, so I tried to hurry this one causing it to be blurry! I wish I got more pictures, but was to scared as the newbie to start blasting away!)
The instructor was incredible! It honestly was the perfect first class for me to go to. She sold the gym to me with her upbeat tempo, positive encouragements and fun side notes. With my basketball lifting workouts in college, I was very familiar with most of the moves, but she also made it so easy to learn with her style of teaching!
Not only did I fall in love with BodyPump then and there, but I also fell in love with how motivating and inspiring the instructor was. I knew I had to talk to her about how she got where she is and any advice she has for someone wanting to start in that career.
It’s crazy how yesterday I wrote about how we can define any moment. By adding positive momentum we could see a miracle. Well, a miracle happened to me last night. I have always wanted to get into group fitness. I have such a love for health and fitness and a passion for helping others. By talking with the instructor last night, she gave me that extra push I needed to go after my dreams. Although it will take time, I have promised myself to move forward with this dream and one day become what my instructor was to me last night — an inspiration to others to go after their dreams.
Life is good. Oh and did I mention how sore I am today from BodyPump! It hurts so good!
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Question for the day:
