When One Door Closes, Another Door Opens

Reality is kicking in.

Yesterday, it really hit me that this is my last week at work. My last week in the marketing world, for a while that is. My last few days with my wonderful coworkers.

This last week has been stressful, exciting and a little sad. Last night, a bunch of coworkers took me out for a few drinks to say our farewells since I’m not able to tonight or tomorrow. It was the sweetest thing ever. I honestly am so blessed to have been surrounded by so many great people this past year.

Although it has been sad, I am so proud of myself – and I don’t say that often – but I am so proud of myself for taking this leap of faith and going after my dream. I have been reading an amazing book called, “Your Divine Fingerprint: The Force That Makes You Unstoppable” by Keith Craft. And right now, I’m in the part that talks about core values and implementing those values in your life every day. But to start, you need to understand what your core values are!

Duhhhh, why didn’t I realize that before! For the past year, I have been trying to figure out my purpose in life. I knew the marketing world wasn’t quite it and that being behind a desk wasn’t letting me deploy the gifts that God has given me. But what are those gifts?

If you sit and write down the things that are important to you, you will see a difference in your life. You will begin to see the values you have and how you should and currently are using them in your life. It was when I started to realize the things I love and expressed those things in my life everyday that this new job opportunity landed in my lap.

I like to think of God as the game master. It’s like he puts us through hard times, only so we can figure out ourselves, grow closer to Him and get stronger through the pain. Then, once we figure it out and get through the hard time, he gives us our next challenge in life. This time around, we have more knowledge and are stronger to get through it. We continue to learn about God and ourselves through every challenge in life.

I learned a lot this past year. I learned things about myself and God that will make me into the coach that He needs me to be for this next year and however many years after that He calls me to do so.

Like they say, when one door closes, another door opens. πŸ™‚

Before I depart for the day, I have to be a proud Momma and share some pictures of my baby kitty, Millie:

IMG_1523This is her go to spot when I’m folding clothes in the bedroom. Don’t let this cuteness fool you. It doesn’t take long before her cat-dog comes out. She literally is part dog. She is walking around with her toy in her mouth as we speak!

She doesn’t let me get ready in peace. She will sit and meow until I pick her up and hold her. I may or may not hold her at times while I get ready. Guilty! She is spoiled.IMG_1527

Sorry I had to be a proud mommaaaaa! πŸ™‚

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday! And do yourself a favor today. Sit down, right down your values in life and prioritize them from 1 to 10, 1 being the most important. Start today to implement them in your life. It’s crazy what could happen!
