And the Wedding Planning Begins! So far I.Love.It! (Thanks to all my recent brides and brides-to-be for helping with vendor names, likes and dislikes, and prices!)
So far the planning has been really fun! But I have heard that the beginning is always fun and than once you start handing over money it starts to get extremely stressful, annoying and by the time the beautiful day arrives, you just want the day to be over. I am making a promise to myself and Tyler that no matter what happens the day of I won’t let it ruin my day. Yes planning is important, but nothing ever turns out the way you plan it. You just have to plan what you can and let the rest fall into place. God already knows what that day is going to be like. The most amazing part is that I am marrying my best friend! No matter what happens that day I get to walk down the aisle to the man of my dreams! I literally get the butterflies just thinking about how special that moment is going to be!
We have picked our venue and our special date! 🙂 October 17, 2015. This day is extremely special to me because it’s the day my parents got married as well as my grandparents! I always dreamed of a fall wedding so the fact that October 17 landed on a Saturday was absolutely incredible. God truly works in amazing ways.
I’m still on the hunt for a photographer and DJ, but have some really good contacts so far and can’t wait to see if they are available on our date!! There is one photographer that I need to talk about this morning.
As a blogger, I am finding that photographers with blogs, and I mean truly genuine blogs, are the ones that touch my soul, not their prices. One of my dearest friends just did her engagement pictures with Maison and said she was amazing! So of course I checked out her website and fell in love with not only her work, but also her writing. For every engagement, wedding and senior photo shoot she shares a blog post about the people, relationships and personalities behind the photographs. To me that is so important. But what made me fall in love was this line from Maison:
“Above all, we will seek to honor + glorify Jesus Christ, + to love clients with His love + not our own.”
This woman is building a business around God’s love. For me, that means more than any other sales pitch that other photographers try to use. Even though I haven’t met Maison yet, I think she is absolutely amazing! She is making such a difference in this world by sharing God’s love every single day! 🙂
If you are looking for a photographer, I encourage you to look into Maison!
Question for the day:
- If you are planning a wedding or recently did, what are/were your favorite parts to plan? What were the most difficult?
