My Favorite Moments of 2014: Happy New Year!

I still can’t believe 2014 is coming to an end. I also can’t believe all the amazing moments God has blessed me with throughout this year. I would definitely have to say that 2014 has been my biggest and most memorable year of my life! I feel God put me in places that I was supposed to be and He gave me opportunities to make an impact in others lives.

For starters, He gave me the desire to use my passion for writing to start this blog, Healthy Desires!

Last year in April, I went on a vacation in Tennessee that absolutely changed my life. (Read more about my vacation here.) I had started a job in July of 2013 that I liked, but had become very stressful throughout the first few months. Our family vacation finally gave me time to relax, enjoy the beauty of this world and have “me” time. It was a time I was able to spend with God and dream about a day where I felt I would make a difference in others lives rather than sit behind a desk and print marketing materials. Most of my days in Tennessee were spent in the beautiful mountains and in a slower paced society than what I had been used to.

Being surrounded by nature and beauty made me realized there was way more to this life then spending every day doing something you don’t enjoy. I knew what made me happy, what made me passionate, I just needed to change my mindset and go for it when I was back at the daily grind. If I didn’t feel like I was where I was supposed to be in life and I wasn’t helping people every day, then I would find a way to do it.

And that’s what started Healthy Desires.

Not only have I been given an opportunity to help others, but I also was starting to understand who God made me to be.

Gradually throughout 2014, everything began to develop into this amazing plan God had for me and I truly believe a lot of it had to do with Healthy Desires giving me a more positive outlook at every situation that came my way.

My life took a complete 180. And I was checking items off my bucket list that I never imagined would happen in 2014.

I ran in my very first half marathon. (Read more about my experience here!)

Running in that half marathon was me using my knew mindset I had found on vacation, to do the things I would have been too scared to do in the past. I felt like a new person. Ready to take on anything! I realized that everything I had been through and felt was for a reason!

I started my very own blog!

I bought a vehicle.

The love of my life completely surprised me by asking me to marry him! (And got me a cat!! 🙂 Read our engagement story here!)

That same day, I got an opportunity to take a dream job as a Head Golf Coach and an Assistant Basketball Coach at Marian University.

We moved, twice. Within two months of each other.

I am studying for my group exercise certification to teach aquatics class at our local gym!

And so many more blessings that would take me all of 2015 to write about!

2014 was an amazing year because I trusted that God had a plan for me! I encourage you to use 2015 as your year to see the plans God has for you. Continue to pray for patience and for God to bless you to spread His love and joy to those around you. I promise you, big things will happen.

Have faith and believe. It is our job to believe. It’s God’s job to do the impossible! 2015 is your year!

My favorite part about putting this New Years post together was reading all of my past posts over again and being reminded of the many lessons and blessings 2014 has brought me.

Here are some of my favorite posts from 2014 that I would love to share with you again:

I’m wishing you all a Happy New Year! And I will see you in 2015 🙂
